Philippians 4:19
And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
Another favorite verse of mine.
I know it’s often misunderstood and probably causes some to ridicule God.
Far too often our expectation is not God’s expectation.
God is seen as some kind of government welfare and we should draw a monthly check from Him each month.
Paul told the Thessalonians if anyone will not work, neither shall he eat. 2 Thess 3:10
He wasn’t being harsh.
In fact he used himself as an example. He wrote about traveling from place to place sharing the Gospel. Some churches supported him and some did not.
However, God was faithful and Paul sustained.
Paul was not retired. He wasn’t lazy. He worked hard for the glory of God in difficult and dangerous situations.
I am not retired. I do not consider myself lazy. I am in the ministry and service of the Lord and I testify that God has taken care of me and my family.
Trust in God.
Put your hand to the plow and don’t look back.
