Hebrews 10:23-25 Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful. And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.
Many take the quote “not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together” and use it as the reason to go to church.
It’s part of the reason but gains more sense when taken in context of the other verses.
As a Christian, you should not waver in your belief but stand strong in it because Jesus stood strong.
He will not leave you, so you should not leave Him.
You are here to help others through love and good works – so they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.
You should not forsake going to church, as others have, but continue to go and encourage others.
This is more important than ever as we get closer to the return of Christ.
