James 1:19-20 So then, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath; for the wrath of man does not produce the righteousness of God.
Everyone has an opinion on just about everything.
Different opinions can lead to angry words, gestures, and conflict.
James’ scripture makes me think of an old saying: you have two ears and one mouth so you can listen twice as much as you speak.
I have witnessed arguing in business meetings in the church house.
It was a shameful display and I am sorry for ever being part of it.
The meeting was so heated, I was threatened with the words from one person that we would finish this dicussion down the road (by way of a fight).
Surely James is correct when he said, “the wrath of man does not produce the righteousness of God.”
Pray before you think and think before you speak.
