1 Peter 5:6-7 Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.
One of the definitions of humble is “to lower in condition, importance, or dignity.”
I believe it applies to this scripture.
Rather than exalting yourself, let God do it in due time.
A quick reminder that pride is a sin that God does not tolerate.
It was the downfall of many of Israel’s kings and even civilizations like Sodom and Gomorrah.
One of the definitions of humble is “to destroy the independence, power, or will of.”
I believe this applies to this scripture.
I know many are self-sufficient.
They work hard, have a good job, benefits, and financial plans for the future.
The future usually goes no further than death, and many even plan out for their own burial or cremation.
I work hard too but Linda and I count everything as a blessing from God.
The older we get the more dependent we are on Him.
Unlike many that plan their lives up to death, we have planned beyond death by believing in Jesus Christ as Savior.
He can take care of you in this life and in eternal life.
Let God take care of you.
