Memorable Scripture: The Melting Earth

2 Peter 3:10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up.

The Day of the Lord catches many people off guard.
Not everyone!
Paul told the Thessalonians “But you, brethren, are not in darkness, so that this Day should overtake you as a thief.” 1 Thess 5:4
I know this scripture says the heavens will pass away and the earth will melt with great heat.
A few verses later, Peter says, “the heavens will be dissolved, being on fire, and the elements will melt with fervent heat.” 2 Peter 3:12
In my opinion, those trying to save the planet by restricting and eliminating carbon emissions will be the most surprised – caught off guard like a thief in the night.
Although their efforts are noble, it is futile in the hands of God.
Remember earlier Peter talked about those disbelieving in the Lord’s return, how they willfully forget: that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of water and in the water, by which the world that then existed perished, being flooded with water. 2 Peter 3:5-6
God did it once and He will do it again.
You need to get prepared for the Day of the Lord!
