2 Chron 7:13-14 When I shut up heaven and there is no rain, or command the locusts to devour the land, or send pestilence among My people, if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.
As the United States of America nears her 245th anniversary of independence, have we become independent from God?
I believe we have!
Sin is celebrated.
Instead of calling for repentance, there is a call to the sinner to be proud of their sin and for others to accept that sin as perfectly natural.
The first part of today’s scripture is a picture of America today.
There are areas of the land seeing the most severe drought than ever before.
Locusts are devouring the land, but not as in insects.
The land is devoured by people.
These people take the rich resources but deliver nothing in return.
Read into that what you must, whether it is those swarming the border, politicians, drug dealers, or the lazy and slothful that do no gainful employment for themselves or the country.
Finally, a pestilence, defined as a deadly, uncontrollable disease.
Covid-19 meets the definition and it is not the only disease that exists or will exist.
With the gloom and doom of today’s scripture also comes the vaccination.
Humility, prayer, and repentance result in forgiveness and healing from God.
It’s time. It’s past time for us to listen and respond to God!
