I'm just tired (of it)

I got tired of it! I just had enough of one person’s annoyance into my family and my home.

When I sat down and calmed down I wondered what the Bible had to say about being tired.
The word only shows up in one place in the New King James. Continue reading

Darkness and Light

This is the message which we have heard from Him and declare to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all. If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. 1 John 1:5-6

What is this darkness the Bible speaks about? Continue reading

Sin – the first step

If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 1 John 1:8

I know of ministers that refuse to speak of sin. Continue reading

The Torment (of hell)

Then he cried and said, ‘Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus that he may dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.’ Luke 16:24

The torment of hell is greater than just a flame. Continue reading

The Fullness of The Time

But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, Gal 4:4
I’m late with today’s Morning Thought because I was quite busy last night and early this morning.
The “fullness of the time” had come for my daughter to give birth to her first child and after going into the hospital late yesterday, she delivered my grandson, Barrett, at 9:11 am this morning. Continue reading

How we feel about Christianity

How We Feel About Christmas

For you have perverted the words of the living God. Jer 23:36
There is a bit of romanticism and nostalgia surrounding Christmas.

Chestnuts roasting on an open fire,
Jack Frost nipping on your nose,
Yuletide carols being sung by a choir,
And folks dressed up like Eskimos. Continue reading

With Haste

The shepherds said to one another, “Let us now go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has come to pass, which the Lord has made known to us.” And they came with haste and found Mary and Joseph, and the Babe lying in a manger. Now when they had seen Him, they made widely known the saying which was told them concerning this Child. Luke 2:15-17 Continue reading

Pray for the Children

Linda had a Christmas lunch at school and invited me to it.
I arrived a bit early and sat in the cafeteria while she finished up with the Pre-K class.
I know a few of the children in her class but seeing all of them together eating lunch brought back a flood of memories from my own childhood. Continue reading

Be Amazed

Joseph and Mary were amazed at what was being said about Jesus. Luke 2:33 NLT
This was the topic of discussion at church last night; why Joseph and Mary were amazed.
The scene is the presentation of Jesus at the temple according to Num 18:15-16. Continue reading
