FaceTime with God

facetimeI have a daughter that lives just north of Dallas. She is married and has a son, Barrett. We call him Bear.

I am thankful they do not live in California or New York, where it would take an airliner to get us there and those visits would be few and very far between.
And still it is difficult to make the 4-hour trip very often. Continue reading

The Godly Man Helps the Failing Man.

iron sharpens ironBeing a Godly man it is your calling and obligation to help others.
It is written as iron sharpens iron so a man sharpens the countenance of his friend. Prov 27:17

When Godly men fail!

bathsheba3The past couple of days I’ve looked at Godly men that seem to not take their eyes off God. They stand firm in the faith no matter what the circumstances.
Though men like that exist I think they are not as populous as those that fall to temptation and failure. Continue reading

A Godly Man – 2

pitAnother thought from yesterday on the Godliness of Daniel.
It says that God had given the chief of staff both respect and affection for Daniel. Dan 1:9

Now! Today!

doitnow2Lately I’ve noticed how much time is spent on planning for the next future event. Everyone does it.

On Facebook it looks something like this, “I can hardly wait. Next week I’ll be lying on the beach soaking up the sun.”
Or this one, “I’m not looking forward to next week. I’ll be having tests run.” Continue reading

For Better – For Worse

for better for worseFor some reason I got up this morning thinking about Job. That doesn’t happen very often.

Job is an interesting fellow. It is said of him, he was blameless—a man of complete integrity. He feared God and stayed away from evil. Job 1:1
It’s quite a great honor when God takes time to say these things about you. Continue reading

Sanctify your family

The husbands relationship and duties to his wife are analogous to Jesus and His relationship to the church, according to the writings of Paul in Ephesians.

One of the responsibilities of the husband is sanctification of his family. Continue reading
