Pray for Church Camp!

Call them all together—men, women, children, and the foreigners living in your towns—so they may hear this Book of Instruction and learn to fear the Lord your God and carefully obey all the terms of these instructions. Do this so that your children who have not known these instructions will hear them and will learn to fear the Lord your God. Deut 31:12-13
It’s time for church camp. Continue reading

The hem of Him

Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!
It is like the precious oil upon the head, running down on the beard, the beard of Aaron, running down on the edge of his garments. Ps 133:1-2
Think about the unity of the oil and that is how the church should be. Continue reading

Drought and Sin

It’s another rainy morning.
As I sit down to read my Bible, pray, and write, it is pouring down. It’s quite a stark contrast to last year.
In fact, I think we have had more rain in July than we received all of last year!
The drought was hard on us. Oppressive heat and lack of moisture dried out vegetation and brought on the worse wildfire in the state’s history. Continue reading

Are we tired of God?

O my people, what have I done to you? What have I done to make you tired of me? Mic 6:3
What has God done that we have strayed so far from him?
I noticed that most of the churches around us have gone to a 3 night revival. Continue reading

What is the value?

What is the value of a baseball?
You can pick one up at Academy for $2.99.
Put it in the hands of a little leaguer and the value may drop.
Put it in the hands of a major leaguer and it may also drop in value.
If it becomes winning ball in a World Series, Continue reading

In the picture

I’ve been scanning and posting old photographs on Facebook.
One such photo is one of my dad, two of his sisters, and me.
There the four of us were; frozen in time.
Someone else may be living in the house; the walls may have been painted and maybe new appliances have been bought, Continue reading

Adopted

God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. This is what he wanted to do, and it gave him great pleasure. Eph 1:5
Our topic touched on adoption last night. Continue reading

Get use to it.

Remember the story of the frog placed in a pot of cool water. He remains there quite content and happy.
The water is then slowly heated up to a gradual boil. The frog remains not realizing the temperature is rising until it is too late and it is boiled to death.
There is much debate on the truth of the story. Continue reading

The Blessing of the Lord God

Yesterday I mentioned the blessings in Deuteronomy Chapter 28. Just in case you have never read it, I decided to post it from the NLT version.

Deut 28:1-14
“If you fully obey the Lord your God and carefully keep all his commands that I am giving you today, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations of the world. Continue reading

What is your reason?

He came to church and sat on the back row.
Everyone shook his hand and introduced themselves.
He was a stranger; someone they had never seen before.
He stood quietly throughout the praise and worship. Continue reading
