A Spiritual Experience

Good Morning!
This is the day the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.

The Lord put Adam to sleep and from his side created woman.
And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed. Gen 2:25
It must have been quite a spiritual experience to fellowship with God and not be ashamed.
But Adam and Eve listened to the lies of Satan. Continue reading

Good Morning!
This is the day the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.

I live in the south and therefore have always eaten southern cooking.
What may seem inedible to some from our northern states are delicacies here in Texas.
Pecan pie is a common as fried chicken.
We don’t eat yams, we eat sweet potatoes also know as sweetaters. Continue reading

Redistribution of Wealth

Good Morning!
This is the day the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.

It’s the topic of discussion in political circles and on the blogs.
It’s a phrase used by a presidential candidate that wants to take the hard earned money from those that worked for it and give it to those that have done nothing for it.
It’s not a new concept. Socialist countries have been doing it for years with no success. Continue reading

Good Morning!
This is the day the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.

It was an interesting lunch yesterday as we celebrated the birthdays of two of the staff, Vera and Vicki.
We always do this at Casa Ole’, a local Mexican restaurant.
I’m the quiet type, at least when it comes to eating. Continue reading

Are You Having Seconds?

It’s been a while since melamine has been in the news so I thougth I’d bring it up.
We’ve heard about it in the dog food, cat food, and then in the milk products of Asian children.
But did you know that you’ve probably have had a meal off of a plate made out of the stuff? Continue reading

Good Morning!
This is the day the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.

Now while Ezra was praying, and while he was confessing, weeping, and bowing down before the house of God, a very large assembly of men, women, and children gathered to him from Israel; for the people wept very bitterly. Ezra 10:1
Sometimes while writing Morning Thoughts, I do it for the sake of writing, out of an obligation that I have for you.
I can be tired, rushed, overwhelmed, sick, and still feel an obligation to write.
Sometimes I write about nothing, at least it seems that way to me. Continue reading

Let Them Eat Cake

Good Morning!
This is the day the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.

For I determined not to know anything among you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified. 1 Cor 2:2
I am determined to study God’s word more so that I may know more that I may share more with others, including you.
I have come to believe that sharing God’s word is like giving everyone a piece of chocolate cake. Continue reading

Good Morning!
This is the day the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.

But that isn’t what you were taught when you learned about Christ. Eph 4:20 NLT
Several years ago Chris was pulled over by the police and arrested for DUI.
Years later he entered the armed forces only to continue in destructive behavior, including drugs.
He is now 27 and has been arrested and could be charged with manslaughter in an accident in which alcohol was a factor and someone was killed. Continue reading

As we approach cold and flu season, I am always amazed at the spread of these viruses from continent to continent, state to state, city to city, and person to person.
The less personal contact you have with others the less likely you are to catch a disease.
I work in an enclosed enviroment with eleven others but have an office to myself so my exposure to them is low. Continue reading
