Get out of the way and get in the will!

And the Lord said to her: “Two nations are in your womb, two peoples shall be separated from your body; one people shall be stronger than the other, and the older shall serve the younger.” Gen 25:23

This was told to Rebekah, the wife of Isaac, Continue reading

The Lion to be concerned about!

I’m sure you’ve heard the story about Cecil the lion being killed by some dentist from Minnesota on a safari hunt.
Now an account executive for Idaho State University has posted pictures from her hunts where she killed an old giraffe and a kudu. Continue reading

Impart some Love!

For I long to see you, that I may impart to you some spiritual gift, so that you may be established — that is, that I may be encouraged together with you by the mutual faith both of you and me. Rom 1:11-12

Transformation through God’s word!

I found out that a visitor to our church really enjoyed hearing God’s word. He later told a family member that it gave him a renewed strength to go back home and get back into church with his family. Continue reading

Life Changing Events

Good morning from Daniel Springs church camp.
Last night the camp pastor spoke on time. As I listened I began to think about the stories my grandparents use to talk about.

Most of us will remember life changing events – for them it was The Great Depression.
My grandmother would not toss out a small bowl of purple-hull peas. Things were so bad and food was scarce.
I heard about the scarcity of jobs and working all day for 50 cents.
It was there life changing event.
In my lifetime there have been many things that have changed the way I live and think.

Man landed on the moon in the late 1960’s. Abortion was made legal in the early 1970’s and same-sex marriage in 2015.

September 11, 2001 changed all of us and our view of Islam.
Now I can reminisce about where I lived and went to school. I could talk about friends and places. But above all the dates and events that have transpired in my lifetime, January 15, 1975 sticks out above all.

That was the day I was born-again by accepting Jesus as my Savior.
It’s the event I should talk about the most.

It’s the event I should talk about most with my grandchildren.

It is the life changing event that I need to tell everyone about.

It’s the event that my mind should think on the most.

“Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth.” Colossians‬ ‭3:2‬

Victory over the big sins – Victory over the smallest sins

The Mosaic Law gives a clear definition of sin. Some of those are fairly easy to distinguish like murder, adultery, lying, stealing, coveting, and dishonoring your parents – all mentioned in the Ten Commandments. Plus there are the first four concerning your relationship with God. Continue reading
